This is a beautiful month to come and visit our Kenya safari lodge, as the landscape gets coated with a luscious shade of green from plenty of rain. There are plenty of wildlife gathering throughout the savannah to water-holes depending on how the October / November rains held up. This time of year is also a wonderful time for bird watching!

This time of year is another amazing month to visit as its quite similar to January wildlife and bird watching, however the weather can be more hot and dry at this time.

This is a beautiful time of year, however it is also when we get a big annual rainfall so most of the wildlife have dispersed ,but can still make for a great game drive as rains can be unpredictable! The landscape however is gorgeous as ever, perfect for a more relaxing time at a kenya safari lodge. Elephants are present at the spring and there are plenty of plain game to be seen.

Rainy season is in full swing during this time, making the entire landscape extremely green and the mornings fresh with dew – incredibly refreshing! Because of all the newly grown vegetation, wildlife is a little tougher to spot but that just makes it that more rewarding when your Maasai guide tells you to look to your right and you see a beautiful tower of giraffes enjoying some acacia in the sun.

By the end of May, the rains should subside. If you come to camp at this time, make sure you plan a sundowner at the top of a lookout hill so you can truly experience the vastness of the landscape coated in a deep emerald green of vegetation! This is also a great time to look for large cats and plain game.

During this time of year, guests are encouraged to take a wonderful hike up into the Chyulu cloud forest. The grass is tall and gorgeous against the warm sunset tones. There is also a high concentration of plain game within the area!

During this time, the elephants are concentrated at the spring and there are plenty of plain game throughout the area. This is also a fantastic time to go fly camping and experience the wilderness as they did in the past. You’ll experience a mini air safari as we fly to the private conservancy where you will stay in a simple tent with meals cooked under a fire, enjoying the sounds of the savannah under a million stars!

This is a beautiful time to come to camp, with plain game and possibly some large cats viewed on safari game drives. You can experience a mini air safari by booking a kilimanjaro flight – the view of Kilimanjaro is breathtaking, especially when viewed on top of one of our look-out hills for a sundowner or from a bird’s eye view!

The plains at this time have turned into a beautiful shade of gold, best viewed at sunrise or sunset! This is a great time to visit the elephants at Ithumba camp during your visit as well as go on a game drive to see the elands and hartebeests that move into the Chyulus as well!

This is a great time to visit, especially if you’re looking for a classic golden savannah experience. Migratory birds usually are on their way back as well. Kilimanjaro makes for a breathtaking view as the peaks are usually out during this time and the lions tend to visit camp, and their roars heard in the evenings!

During this time, the short rains tend to appear throughout the month and wildlife is plenty. This is a great time for bird watchers as well as there as plenty thriving within the area during this season. Kilimanjaro is snow-capped and the zebras move into the plains!
